Bill This

Louisiana republican, senator David Vitter this week introduced a bill that would cut funding for so-called sanctuary cities which do not actively or aggressively harass undocumented immigrants. Senator Harry Reid called it the Donald Trump bill, a reference to the incendiary and opportunistic rhetoric by presidential candidate and bombast, Donald Trump.

The bill calls for cities that do not “comply” with federal laws regarding arrests and deportations of immigrants to face sanctions and cuts to federal funding. Sanctuary cities simply have decided against using municipal funds or employees to enquire about an individual’s immigration status. It also relieves additional financial burdens on municipalities which find themselves cash strapped to greater and greater degrees. The term holds no legal status. begun in Los Angeles in the 1970s, the intent was to remove additional burdens to local police, and to prevent discrimination. Attempts to ban or sanction so called sanctuary cities is merely a political ploy and has no actual basis in law or practice.

The biggest idiocy is that these same republicans are the same retro-evolutionary amphibians cheering and flouting federal laws regarding a woman’s right to choose what happens to her own body, who insists about imposing creationism in public school curriculum, legislating at state levels end runs around anti-discrimination laws, imposing religious texts in courtrooms and celebrating lawless militias deploying to murder federal law enforcement officers in Nevada supporting a scofflaw rancher while now proclaiming “Blue Lives Matter.”

Of course, “Blue Lives Matter,” referring to police, is merely the right’s tongue in cheek end run around actually using the word “Nigger” to discredit the Black Lives Matter movement.

But consistency has never been a hallmark of the Right. What is far worse, however , are the people who fail to recognize glaring contradictions on the Right, which are the size of China’s Great Wall. And these people, like the media dulled Weebles that they’ve become walk right into that wall, turn around and slam into it again and again.
The Right constantly drumbeats about low information voters, referring to liberals and Progressives and anyone who sees through the hurricane of bullshit on the Right, as well as those not stupid enough to vote against their best interests. but when push comes to shove I’ll take the low information voters on the Left over the low IQ voters on the Right any old day!

Welfare Queens: Who Really Wears the Crown

Numbers have a liberal bias, which is why the Right has taken to simply inventing numbers. The issue of who is on Welfare, and who is actually lying about what Welfare actually entails is a case in point. The number currently being floated by the Rightwing of Americans on Welfare is an astounding 109, 631,000 number. That’s a lot of lazy and out of work people helping to make the case as to why you are paying too much in taxes. Just one problem, the number isn’t accurate. Well, it is and it isn’t. Here’s what I mean.

As of the 2012 census there were 320 million Americans total. An astounding 35.4%, or just under 110 million were on welfare, according to a, dare I say, very liberal use of the word by the right. A quick definition of the word, however, reveals that “welfare” encompasses everything from SNAP, or food stamps, Tax Credits for Working Families, Housing assistance, SSI for severely disabled Americans, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), unemployment insurance, Medicaid, Women Infants and Children (WIC) assistance, Head Start and Family Energy assistance, because it looks really really embarrassing if too many Americans succumb to cold or heat due to poverty, unless we are competing directly with Bangladesh these days.

Incidentally, according to the CDC, between 2006 and 2010 some 2000 Americans died because of heat cold and other weather related events. While many of those are not attributable to poverty, the rise from previous years is so precipitous that contributions due to poverty cannot be overlooked or under estimated. That sharp rise coincides with both an aging population, cuts in benefits, rising medical costs and the great recession.

But in this election cycle the right would also have us believe that Blacks, immigrants and Latinos are voting for democrats because the democrats will give them welfare. The numbers prove otherwise and instead lend more evidence that the right intends to frighten, radicalize and anger white voters to the poles out of the realization that they cannot carry in any meaningful way Black and minority votes.

They portray the myth of the welfare queen, the Black woman on drugs popping out babies and collecting big checks bled from hard working white taxpayers, Tennessee began testing welfare recipients for narcotics in July 2014 and found only 1 in 800 tested positive, hardly more than 1/10 of 1%. Florida, which also tests, found the rate to be at 2.6%, while the non welfare, taxpaying population’s rate was near 8%. So why the hype? Testing dollars are a big ticket give away to testing companies. Each test nets the company $30-40 on average, a mandatory cash payment by the person being tested. Testing companies are pouring millions through lobbyists into campaigns and media. Carly Fiorina, Republican presidential candidate was recently caught in a lie about a stepdaughter, whom she led people to believe died of a drug overdose, when in fact the person had died from complications due to Bulimia.

Children are the primary beneficiaries of Welfare. Even still, only 5.2% of so-called welfare recipients get more than half of their total income from the government. Nationally the amount spent on social welfare programs is 59 Billion, against more than $100 billion given to already profitable corporations. That number is exponentially higher is state and local corporate giveaways are tallied. People who attend college re far less likely to need or ask for any type of public assistance, adding weight to the long term cost benefits of free collage educations. that isn’t about welfare, but rather investment.

The same could be said for law enforcement and the prison industry. If the country prioritized quality public education over law enforcement and security the cost benefit to the country would be staggering. It cost roughly $5000 more to incarcerate a young person for a year than it would cost to send him/her to a Big 10 school with housing and board for an entire year. For profit prisons spent $45 million in lobbying just in 2011 alone, and made more than $5 billion just in immigration detentions alone. The cost for each detainee was $166 dollars per day. The Holiday Inn in Port Washington Wisconsin, with a stunning view of the quaint harbor costs $94 a night, with private showers, a pool, sauna, breakfast and clean towels. There is a nice Italian place within walking distance where for about $20 bucks you can get dinner and have some left to take back to the room. $52 dollars cheaper than for-profit=prisons.

Blacks are 13% of the population. While the white middle class benefitted over hundreds of billions in VA loans and scholarships the Black community was barred from those benefits, allowing one community an unfair advantage. That community, in large part because of that has historically remained the most vulnerable. Almost 42% of Blacks are on or require some sort of public assistance. That equals about 17 million people. The number is virtually identical in the Hispanic and Latino communities. Together they still do not add up to the number of white Americans using some time of Welfare. or about 41 million White Americans. That begs the question; why then do so many poor whites vote republican?

Shaming Jesus

We hear all the time from the right how they speak for Jesus when again and again it becomes a do as I say not as I do scenario. At some point you must ask yourself if they are simply invoking the name to keep you under control, that is, shaming you into compliance with crafted and concealed deals and policies, cloaked in religion that are meant simply to provide a few with greater power, privilege and security at the expense of the rest of us. The refugee catastrophe, which Revolution and Beer has chronicled and followed for several years now, is a case in terribly stark and tragic point.

The crisis now in Europe’s heart reached a current peak this week when Hungary closed its border to tens of thousands of refugees(Migrants is an insult to the desperate plight of these people) were driven back with truncheons, water cannons and tear gas as they tried to cross the border. Note, that none of these people have food, water or shelter or any understanding of how they and their families will survive day to day. Hungary was refused barbed-wire by a German anti-capitalist company-Sarcasm Alert here.

Interestingly Serbia, not known over the last two decades for a particular love of Muslims was gloriously receptive and merciful to these poor people. Many thousands flooded across the border into neighboring Croatia where there was an outpouring of support, love and help from average people. In talking with people from the Balkans, many of whom survived the cascade of wars in the breakup of the former Yugoslavia it seems the crisis awakened memories for Croats and Serbs of their own nation’s recent struggles. Where religion once seemed to define untold horrific and barbaric acts there is now a common humanity and the understanding of the necessity, the moral imperative to help someone in need.

Renata Ivosh, mother and grandmother, survivor of the siege of Sarajevo and a refugee from Bosnia went with her daughter to the train station in Zagreb with cookies and juice for Syrian refugees. The family, living in a tiny basement apartment makes less than $10,000 a year for a family of 4. A farmer who survived the destruction of Vukovar in 1991 hoped his farm to hundreds of passing refugees, feeding and sheltering them. Contrast that to former Illinois Representative Joe Walsh, with a net worth estimated at well over a million dollars decried on his radio show that there is no money to help even a few thousand refugees headed to this nation of nearly 400 million. He rebuked the Pope’s suggestions that catholic parishes open their doors, saying it is what Jesus would do. Last week Walsh actually said that in that case “Jesus was wrong!”

So the question is, is it the words or the deeds? Who claims to speak for Jesus and who is actually doing the work he described in help the least of his brethren? The answer may shock you. The answer speaks directly to much of the ills our nation faces. The answer might empower you more than you ever thought possible, to the detriment of frauds and used car salesmen like Walsh, Trump and Hillary.

So long, Joe

It’s 2015. That is an important fact to establish before continuing here. But for a few hardcore Chinese astrologers, some rabbis and Donald trump supporters who start over on the annual calendar each time they finish counting fingers and toes, at least we can all agree on that much.

Recently I heard a Geico car insurance commercial marketed at Millenials touting how the company has been in business for 75 years, with a tag line, “Didn’t know they had cars 75 years ago…” Now, recall, we all agreed that it is 2015. Do the math. 75 years ago was 1940, the second World War, a year before Pearl Harbor. And if you don’t know what Pearl harbor was, and think that it starred ben Affleck, relax, this article isn’t for you; its about you. Also, if curse the Japanese every December 7th, seventy-four years later, seventy years after the war ended rather than understand that it was part of a process comprised of contributive players, economic bullying and complex relationships, this article is about you too. It is also about a media that, rather than building relationships and strengthening community has instead exploited our basest greeds and f ears and is rushing us for the sake of content, ratings and exciting video to the precipice of destruction.

Too much? It was all made clear to me last night while enduring another chimp-like car hood pounding theatrical tantrum about how the murder of a Houston cop was “an attack on America!!!!!” It might well have been about the Islamic onslaught upon Western over-privilege.

Where once I might have argued or even cared, wrongly believe that any of what happens in the media or on Walsh’s show is out differences of opinion, and that there was any interest at all in conversation or debate I under stand now that Walsh, Limbaugh, Hannity, Rachel maddow and the rest are salespersons without any redeeming value.

I work daily, through this blog, the radio show interactions with those who challenge my (Instead of cocooning with those who agree with me) assumptions, the corporate media, where as Walsh is a willing paid employee who cares nothing about his audience except as a means to a sale. It’s really like trying to convince a Yugo salesman to make the case for an AMC Pacer. I know, that dates me, but it works.

Its all so boring. Limbaugh, Walsh, Coulter and all the re st are boring. I mean they are driving political dialogue, frightening the old people who will vote for the deadbeats, like Walker, Trump or Bush who will waste more years in regressive, predatory politics and socially stagnate engineering. Every time a white guy shoots up a mall it’s the instant obligatory defense of guns accompanied by the pre-emptive bluster that the Left is politicizing gun control. Immigrants are coming to steal your jobs and go on welfare all at once, and Jorge Ramos is there leader. No one ever quite seems to notice that every issue by the Right is constructed on oxy-morons by actual morons. These are tough guys decrying the feminization of men while carrying a gun everywhere they go. Global warming, for example is such a hoax that the Pentagon which “gave America freedom” and can do no wrong, unless Obama gets involved is actively planning for the unavoidability of global warming. A white tea partier and his wife execute two Nevada cops and proclaim revolution, one of dozens of such slayings of police by white supremacists since 9-11-2001, is never referred to by Walsh and the others, but a 15 year old boarding a plane in Minneapolis to join ISIS proved America is under siege. A black kid with a gun is a feral throw away, but a white kid who maliciously runs down children in Texas deserves a second chance because he has a future.

It’s not really about Walsh. When he says “Blue lives matter” as a slam to Black people concerned about an out of balance system trend taking the lives of far too many Black young men and women, but then attacks public sector unions, most of which are police, no one seems to notice the hypocrisy; least of all cops, who flock to Right wing reactionaries, rather than the Left who would, with reforms protect their jobs and benefits. But Walsh is a symptom. He is a pee stain on the chinos of life., or an oozing pustule.

Earlier this year Walsh publically promised to debate me. He made that debate on the air. I promised to buy the beer. He has my number. He has never called. I am not rescinding the offer, but I also can’t suffer an unrepentant fool and a huckster. If he calls, I’m there, with the beer. I’m not holding my breath. He’s a coward. He has to live with that.

It’s just no interesting any more, Joe. It’s all the same day in and day out. He accomplishes as much for community and America as those squabbling, cackling over-indulged housewives on those reality shows speak to geo-politics and quantum mechanic, or simply just getting along with neighbors. Geico’s commercial reflects and supports a culture of idiots, no-nothings and fools. As long as it contributes to the purposeful dumbing down of our country and the national/international conversation, like Walsh does nightly, I’m not buying any longer. I’m not even listening.

DARK HORSE: Bernie Sanders 2016- Murder and the Media

It was murder pure and simple.

At about 10:45 a gunman, identified as 24 year old Mohammod Youssuf Abdul-Aziz, began a shooting spree in Chattanooga Tennessee, targeting military personnel. Four Marines were killed. A Marine and sailor, and at least one policeman were wounded. Authorities were quick to describe the attacks as domestic terrorism. It took days before that same term was applied to the Charleston Church Massacre in which 9 were killed by Dylann Roof, a self-described white supremacist. Lost to the histrionics of the rightwing and cable news media were critical questions regarding both attacks.

On a local Salem radio affiliate several callers called this an act of war. Former republican tea party representative Joe Walsh was adamant that America is at war with Islam. He was quick to dismiss Dylann Roof as a loner, evil and insane. For Walsh, yesterday on his program, Abdul-Aziz, an American citizen born in Kuwait, was confirmation of the antipathy all Muslims hold for America. Walsh quoted a wholly unsubstantiated number of hundreds of millions of Muslims aligned with ISIS or openly calling for the destruction of the West. That number is derived from a false estimate proliferated in the media of “10% of Muslims around the planet hating America. Bigots like Walsh, sowing and promoting hatred and discord for political purposes, simply have accepted and added to that fictitious figure.

While the media was very quick to connect Abdul-Aziz with ISIS, capitalizing that ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, there was almost no investigation into Roof’s connections to white supremacist groups. ISIS, to be accurate, has called on Muslims in America to attack military targets. White supremacists have called for a new American revolution, quoting Jefferson’s “blood of tyrants and patriots.“ Michael savage, along with virtually every rightwing pundit has called Barack Obama a “tyrant.”

There are critical questions not being addressed in the national narrative. They are, instead, being narrated and spun for political party expediency. On July 4th, The New York Times reported that Roof had indeed been in contact with local white supremacists groups. While there is no evidence they directly encouraged the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, they certainly inspired a malleable young mind. The State newspaper in Columbia, S.C., reported that officials had widened their investigation to others who may have helped Roof in some way. The same seems true for Abdul-Aziz, who lived in a comfortable upper middle class home and was described by friends and family as a likable, easy going person. At some point, like Roof, he became radicalized and driven to an act of terrorism.

Attention for the shooting shifted in the media, pushed by the NRA, doubtlessly to protect market interests and profits, to the gun free zone sign on the door. The easy answer as to why soldiers, as many, including Walsh, were demanding, do not carry guns just as off duty police officers may within limits, is that America is not a military junta. The Posse Comitatus Act was signed into law on June 18, 1878 by President Rutherford B. Hayes. The purpose of the act, supporting the Insurrection Act of 1807 was to limit the powers of the federal government in using soldiers to act as domestic law enforcement personnel. The Act of 1807, incidentally, was signed into law by then President Thomas Jefferson.

Reports and shell casings outside the door where the Marines were killed indicate an ambush. Being armed would have made no difference in this case. The Marines were killed at their desks as Abdul-Aziz, who was later killed by police, fired multiple rounds through the windows. While notable and shocking, the attack also comes at a time on falling crime rates nationally. The assertion by pro-gun activists and the NRA to openly carry guns into public buildings, private businesses, restaurants and shopping centers has led to growing complaints by many who feel intimidated by the weapons as they wait in line for coffee or shop. The intimidation aspect is a clear feature of the activism, a factor that carries the threat of violence.

A clear majority of people, oppose open carry, while supporting reasonable second amendment rights. A University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll found that 68% of Texans were opposed open carry(http://www.newsmax.com/US/open-carry-guns-texas-poll/2015/02/24/id/626526/). Those numbers are consistent nationally.

There is also a greater concern, and that is that we have fallen prey to politicized and corporatized media on both sides of the political spectrum that is unwilling or incapable of adequately informing the American people. News was never intended to be a commodity that is bought and sold, and which is subject to the whims of the powerful and wealthy to control the populace. News was intended to inform the public on issues critical to responsibly maintaining a healthy, functioning democracy. The Public airwaves changed from the late 1980’s as corporate consolidation gobbled up local and national programming. 94% of all media in the country is controlled by just 3 corporations. Those corporations also pour billions into swaying government opinion. The media outlets they own and control as less news organizations and more company messaging wings.

There is a critical lack of confidence in once trusted institutions. The rightwing decries the liberal media, while the left decries the corporate and rightwing media. Those who commiserate with the suffering of innocent Palestinians and Israelis become outraged as the media and politicians unfairly favor one side over another. Network news refuses still to adequately discuss climate change, and allows deniers unchallenged on programs. That media impugns and denounces, or ignores altogether the fight for fair wages and the Occupy movement, but is sympathetic to a far smaller Tea Party movement of belligerents. There is no confidence any longer in leadership. That is dangerous.

Young people and the disillusioned have fled from that media towards the so-called alternative media of the Internet. The internet, through Facebook and other venues can radicalize the susceptible and gullible. It is quite possible and easy to settle into a cul-de-sac online of information and views that insulate some from any other information, but that which validates and strengthens skewed perspectives on the world and their community. Facebook in 2014 was excoriated for an experiment in which they focused certain types of stories as a means of manipulating users. In the cases of Charleston and Chattanooga, it would seem that was a lesson ISIS in reaching Abdul-Aziz and white supremacists and anti-government types taught to Dylann Roof.

Tax Revolt!

Last night on his radio program, former republican representative Joe Walsh announced that he was going to stop paying income tax, and encouraged others to also stop paying income tax to the Federal government and IRS. He repeated the call again and again through the show, calling for rebel cities, in which “patriots” withheld taxes and openly defied gun laws

Revolution and Beer has heard anonymously from at least one listener to Walsh who says she will also refuse to pay her taxes, and will join Walsh in publically revolting against the US tax code. Revolution and Beer does not advocate Walsh’s refusal to pay taxes, but we applaud the bravery and sacrifice of Walsh and any of his listeners now defying the law.

On Saturday we have set aside time on our program for Mr. Walsh and any of his fellow revolutionaries. We have always considered Walsh a man of his word, and that he would not simply say he was going to revolt while encouraging others simply to leave them holding the bag. On Saturday we will ask for confirmation from Mr. Walsh that he has indeed stopped paying taxes.

Walsh would seem to scoff at the risk yesterday on his program. According to one legal site:

Tax evaders often face large criminal penalties, including fines and imprisonment, as well as civil penalties. Take for example the case of the public accountant in Michigan sentences to five months in prison and five months of house arrest for failing to file tax returns for four, yes, four years. He also had to pay $140 thousand dollars worth of back taxes and $50 thousand in penalties and interest.
Filing taxes isn’t voluntary, despite what tax evaders argue. If you make over a certain amount each year you are required to pay a tax on that income. In fact, this requirement is clearly set forth in section 1 of the Internal Revenue Code, which imposes a tax on the taxable income of individuals, estates and trusts.

It would appear that Walsh has a strategy for avoiding those penalties. It would be unthinkable that he would reserve that privilege for himself. As a courtesy therefore, anyone wishing more information on how Walsh will avoid penalties in his tax revolt, and how he will also help fellow revolutionaries, contact:

The Coming Genocide in America.

Walsh cut me off quickly. For months he has refused to debate me on Islam. He is a liar, and now, along with people like Pamela Geller, he is an agent in a coming genocide in the United States against Muslims. He thanked god for the second amendment, and after grossly misleading and largely invented numbers, asked what his listeners were prepared to do. The insinuation to violence appears most obvious. I am catholic. Walsh has never been in combat. I have.ResizeImageHandler

The Left is too weak and ill-informed to recognize the Right is rushing the country towards violence. 20 years in the Balkans, including 3 during the various wars as Yugoslavia broke apart, and a front row seat to the Rwandan Genocide, with hundreds of interviews and two decades of study; I have learned the mechanics of Genocide. I have seen this before. The Right isn’t inventing something new: the template always works.

The cornerstone of any genocide is the media. Control of the media and the message are paramount. It is the carrying system of the nationalists. There are 14420 radio stations in the United States, excluding FM booster and low power stations. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 opened the door for wholesale media consolidation. With that consolidation, conglomerates tied directly to right wing agendas and candidates own more than 90% of radio stations. Profitable and successful shows like Stephanie Miller have been cancelled and replaced with unprofitable programming. FOX News, in order to gain market share lost hundreds of millions for years, something that shareholders for companies owning MSCBC and CNN would not have tolerated. That is a takeover.

How influential is radio in the United States? Radio reaches daily about 80% of the US population, generating annual revenue of about $20 billion, more than double since 1990. Rush Limbaugh was paid 400 million through 2016, or about $38 million annually. It is virtually impossible to find a prominent Right wing talk show host who is not a millionaire. Speaking for “everyman,” Sean Hannity makes $30 million annually, with a net worth twice that. Revenue through 2020 for radio is forecast at $13.5 billion annually in the US alone, against online radio revenue worldwide, according to Radio Internet Advertising News(RAIN) of $1.5 billion in 2017.

The nationalists are led by a small number of individuals with other designs. Genocide is a means to an end, not the end itself. The end is the control of the nation, its wealth and the elimination of adversaries and critics . the set up begins much earlier. The formula is time tested, from medieval European dynasties through to Kemal Atta Turk and the Armenians to the Nazis, Saddam and the Kurds, Rwanda, Bosnia and every other nationalist movement. It is nakedly transparent in virtually everything on rightwing radio, the GOP and their current crop of presidential candidates. The corporate angle cannot be overstated here.
There must be an idealized and largely fictitious ethnic, religious or racial group, an internal betrayer and an eternal enemy. For the Third Reich, it was the so-called Aryans that were idealized, with Soviets as the external enemy, and Jews/Bolsheviks as the internal betrayers. The Serbs, fictionalizing the 12th Century invasion by the Ottoman Turks described Bosnians as the betrayer. During the Rwandan Genocide, it was the media that drove and directed the slaughter of 800,000 mainly Tutsis. In Bosnia a Serb dominated press actually broadcast kill lists of Muslims. Right wing talk host Michael Savage support has offered support for the Serbian cause, which saw the cumulative slaughter of more than 150,000 Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo. It works every time, and it is coming to American at warp speed.

The tragedy in garland was a staged event. In the opinion of the writer, Pamela Geller was likely hoping something would happen, though she is unlikely to ever admit that sort of dastardly intent. I witnessed at the start of the Bosnian conflict how the Serbian Press would conflate the mundane or manufacture events to feed nationalist and genocide narratives.

Walsh’s invocation and pretend chicken hawk outrage regarding the second amendment solution to his listeners is haunting to someone who has seen two genocides, and whom is married to someone who survived a genocide. The messaging is becoming increasingly provocative daily on right wing talk radio. The intent is to control and incite when the time comes.

You’re Invited. Pamela Geller announces Reclaiming the N-Word festival

On the heels of her successful Draw a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad event in Garland Texas, Free Speech heroine Pamela Geller announced today the next great leap forward in Free Speech rights has invited you to a nationwide “Reclaiming the N-word!” event. Join Pamela Geller, Amy Jacobson, Representative Joe Walsh Rand Paul and WLS morning host John Howell, as well as the entire GOP and the great patriots of Garland Texas as White people refuse to have their freedoms abridged.

“Drawing cartoons intended to offend Muslims was just the beginning,” said Pamela Geller. “We are reclaiming the freedoms that made America great.” She was speaking from her posh Manhattan apartment amid some of the $50 million she has received from secret sources to continue her brave efforts.

Among the groundbreaking civic work Geller hopes to accomplish, is making it okay again for White people to use the N-word when and where they please. Geller Hopes to move onto the Mexican and Hispanic community with the S-word, and the C-word for Chinese. Other groups she hopes to reclaim freedom against their desire for respect in America are the Japanese, Slavs, Vietnamese, Filipinos, Inuit, Indigenous Americans, the handicapped and the poor.

Walsh, who suffered a doubly embarrassing blow in the last election to both a woman and an Asian American, but found solace in mocking a crippled veteran’s wounds, said the loss of terms historically used to reaffirm oppression and power structures, which supported slavery, intimidation and genocide, of these “banned” words represent a cornerstone of American freedoms.

“Once coloreds and immigrants, especially the brownish ones,” Walsh said proudly to an audience of 7 upstanding American patriots who tapped their canes and rattled oxygen tanks in support, “we lost some of our god-given freedoms.”

Walsh was referring to upstart minorities who unilaterally decided so-called “derogatory” terms were offensive. That, Walsh and Geller agree, is a slippery slope. What’s next, Rand Paul told FOX host Sean Hannity, yesterday; Voting for everyone? Respect? Civil society?

“Ban the N-word,” said Amy Jacobson, settling into the AM1680 morning show, with her new male minder and verbal abuser, Dan Proft, “and little by little it’s mind police.”

When asked whether or not there would be an event to take back the K-word for Jewish Americans, Geller called the question anti-Semitic and deeply offensive , then stormed out of the interview.

For details on how you can get on the invitation list for this seminal event in the cause of defending American freedoms write to or call:

A note:
The author believes that parody and sarcasm of the above piece are integral to the perverse political climate of rightwing hate currently paraded under terms such as “Freedom.” In keeping with their penchant for twisting reason and discourse to the detriment and division of civil society, the intent of this piece was to use their assertion that all offense speech is protected under the First Amendment, the author asserts that and their position then excludes any legal or personal offense as an attempt to curb my First Amendment rights.

Epidemic of Death

Hidden from the news is a growing epidemic of violence by white hate groups. On Tuesday a Wisconsin State trooper was gunned down by a White Supremacist suspected in a bank robbery. Officer Trevor Casper died in a shootout with Snyder. A 59 year old bystander was also killed in the gun battle. Snyder reportedly is a member of “The Fond du Lac Boot Boys.” The secretive group is reportedly a skinhead affiliation. Snyder and 8 others were arrested in1996 after attacking Blacks and Hispanics. Snyder was carrying business cards for a West Virginia white supremacist organization, the “National Alliance.” Snyder also carried literature from the group which stated, in part:

“…we have a responsibility for the racial quality of the coming generation of our people. That no multi-racial society is a healthy society. That if the white race is to survive we must unite our people on the basis of common blood, organize them within a progressive social order and inspire them with a common set of values. That time to begin is now.”

The National Alliance splintered into several spin off organizations in 2003. In 2011, Kevin William Harpham, 36, of Addy, Washington set pipe bombs designed to cause mass casualties along the planned route of martin Luther King Jr. Memorial march. The bombs were discovered and diffused. Police also discovered links between the National Alliance and Harpham.

In March Ryan Giroux, a member of the Hammerskin Nation, a “notoriously violent” neo-Nazi group affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood killed one man and shot f others in Mesa Arizona. In stark contrast to quick and deadly police tactics with unarmed or less dangerous black suspects, police showed restraint with the still armed and defiant Giroux, who was captured using a taser.

The Wisconsin and Arizona incidents reveal a growing violent trend, virtually ignored by rightwing media sources, while relatively minor incidents involving minorities, or questionable uses of police force on minority suspects receives highlighted coverage in favor of authorities. FOX News and Salem Broadcasting, including former Illinois representative Joe Walsh covered extensively the shooting deaths of a black suspect in New York, but made little or no mention of violent attacks by white, particularly against Law Enforcement officers, which they claim to support. Some suspect Walsh of white power sympathies in his, in the view of some, apparent liberal editing of white supremacist crimes. Walsh sided with violent groups threatening violence against Law Enforcement officers during the Cliven Bundy standoff in 2014. He has been invited on numerous occasions to appear on the Revolution and Beer Show to defend his actions, but so far has not responded.

Since September 11, 2001, more Americans have been killed on US soil by white supremacists than by so-called Muslim extremists. White supremacist groups have been linked to the deaths of more than 400 Americans across the United States, including dozens of Law Enforcement Officers.

#JeSuisCharlie: The Paris Attack

mohYou will hear a great deal of spin, propaganda and lies, particularly from the gun pornographers in the NRA. They will tell you French police do not carry weapons and that gun ownership in France is banned. The responding police to the Charlie Hedbo attack were not the Gendarmerie Nationale, but civilian Police nationale, or Surete (Sur-ay-tay), like our civilian police here in the US. All Surete are issued and carry a Swiss SIG Saurer Pro-series semi-automatic pistol 9mm pistol, and many carry rifles and/or shotguns in their vehicles like US domestic police.

By domestic standards, crime is violent rare in Paris and France as a whole. Terrorism and extremist attacks are rare as well. The Surete has excellent SWAT, anti-terrorism and rapid response units. Communication and coordination between Surete and the Gendarmerie is excellent as well. The first police responded in Paris within 3 minutes. Video from today’s attack show that the police were surprised while responding, facing combat hardened gunmen with assault weapons and possibly body armor before they could even draw their weapons.

Two officers were killed. One was hit in a hail of bullets and wounded. The attackers then finished the officer off moments later. Will FOX News televise their funeral hour by hour as well, or will they forget this story when Michelle Obama makes a remark about bacon or vegetables or school lunches in a few days? imagesYOXYKALI

Gun ownership in France is permitted, but is licensed. Stock piling bullets for pistols is not permitted. Owners of small arms may keep 20 rounds at any one time. Hunters, sportsmen and rifle owners are permitted to maintain 1000 rounds. Guns can be owned legally with appropriate and reasonable permits. Ownership of guns in France is common and easier than in many other European countries. However, with the EU, there are no border customs control. Buying guns legally or illegally in Eastern and Southern Europe, or Turkey and transporting them throughout Europe is as simple as buying guns at an Indian gun fair and driving them to the south side of Chicago.

As for reaction by Muslims to the attack, apparently for Charlie Hedbo’s cartoon depictions of the prophet Muhammad, The Arab league in Cairo and Al-Azhar, Sunni Islam’s most prestigious, organizations, Canadian Muslim leaders, Saudi Arabia and British Muslim leaders immediately and strongly condemned the attack. It is the same for ISIS as well, with many Muslim leaders and nations condemning the group.imagesSIRRUYDA

Finally, a leading Muslim cleric in Britain remarked on the BBC that “Journalists are free to produce those cartoons in a free society, and we as Muslims are free to peacefully oppose them…We Jews, Muslims and Christians must come together and unify against this threat.” The journalist responsible for the cartoon is Stephanie Charbonnier. He was killed in the attack.

While respect and sensitivity to diverse perspectives in the community, freedom of expression must be paramount throughout society. Charlie Hebdo clearly carried that to an extreme, but in their defense the magazine was an equal opportunity offender. That is why we have published a cross-section of those offending covers, with apologies to all of our friends who might take offense. The freedom of expression and of journalism, however is much larger that individual sensitivities. We will likely never post them again, but out of duty in defense of expression and freedom, and to honor the memories of the dead, not only in Paris, but for those oppressed by any censorship, including American corporatist censorship and self-censorship, Revolution and Beer will not waver from its responsibility. Charia-Hebdo-couverture-Charlie-Hebdo

Rest in peace truth warriors. Rest assured that others shall carry that torch against all extremism, fascism and forces of control who would oppress, conceal or attack the real truths in this world.
