David Bowie Dead, just in Time

David Bowie is Dead. Hmm. There’s a joke by comedian Doug Stanhope that goes something like this; maybe Kurt Cobain didn’t die too young. Maybe he was just out of stuff. can you imagine if Jimmy Hendrix had lived and then you see him doing half-time duets with Elton John, singing Rocket Man. And you’d say, how sad is that, why didn’t he just die? What if Lenny Bruce took over for Andy Rooney, some crusty old man bitching about ATM fees…

This society clings a little, rather, a lot too hard to the quantity of life instead of the quality of it. I’ve had people brag how they never have had a major accident or broken a bone. I’ve broken 11 major bones, excluding most of my fingers and toes, caught a ricochet bullet in the shin, suffered so many concussions that a neurosurgeon friend once said he wouldn’t even guess at a count. The scars on my body are a road map of my life. Car accidents, bike accidents. I’ve been shot at more times than I can count, not to mention being bombed and shelled as well, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I’ve written 11 books, published 5, had 2 critically acclaimed plays, and painted artwork that is now all over the world. I’ve done everything, live a war, seen the worst man can do and see the most we are capable of. I’ve fought for the least among us and against injustice without financial reward; and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I strove for experiences, to break out of my comfort zone and to explore fully the spectrum of human emotion. I will carry those in the only suitcase I can carry from this life, happy there isn’t room for anything else in that bag. I’m not David Bowie, but he wasn’t me either.

As for David Bowie’s passing? Funny, yesterday morning, driving the wife to work, I was suddenly in the mood to hear some of his music. Working on the new novel later that morning, I casually explored some of his lesser known work. When the wife announced that he’d died this morning, my first reaction was, well, that’s the end of an era.

One thing is certain, just being born is responsible for more human suffering and carries, by responsible estimation, nearly a 100% mortality rate. Trust me, I spent all night double checking the statistics. Which begs the question of which David Bowie, or you, would you rather have? David Bowie, fans of Ricky Gervais will recall, played a bit part in the TV show Extras, little more than a decade ago. His song parody of Gervais’ character was about not selling out, which Bowie never did.

So, again, which Bowie do you want? How much sadder would it be to see him years from now, hobbled in a wheel chair, oxygen tubes up his nose, bent and mumbling to himself grasping desperately against eternity for every breath, clinging to an ever more distant past in which he is less and less a shadow, or the man who bowed gracefully when he was finished, walking proudly from the stage of life to eternity?

The lesson here is live a life of quality. Experience, suffer, exalt, explore, fail, rise up again in as passionate a life as you can dare. That’s the stuff of our lives. back to Stanhope, “your sins are the only thing that make you interesting!” one of my grandfather’s, many years ago, as he was dying of cancer, remarked to me that being eaten by a bear was the better fate. I put that in my first book 25 years later.

And it’s true. Recall the guy some years back you got killed by an escaped tiger at the San Diego zoo. What happened to Bob? He got eaten by a tiger, in California! Wow, that’s incredible. As opposed to, did you hear about Bob? yeah, after an unfulfilling life as a middle manager in an actuarial firm, all those high calorie lunches finally got the better of him. Died right at his cubicle, just as his divorce was about to be final as well.

Quantity is a beggar’s game, because in the face of eternity, it is meaningless. Quantity is the existential equivalent of a flat line. Take a page from Bowie and good theatre people and know when its time to take a bow, and leave them wanting more. Rock on, David Bowie!

Mass Shooting Rating System

Love me or Hate me. Tomorrow I guarantee it will be one or the other…

Be honest, do you really care about the shooting in San Bernadino, except for the same fleeting outrage you feel over any other reality TV story? The happiest man in the world right now is the guy who shot and killed three, including a police officer and a war vet, at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs last week. Both of whom were forgotten by a Press that routinely uses cops and vets to argue for guns and against the Black Lives Matter movement. The unhappiest group in the world? ISIS who thought this would engender some sort of backlash against a national minority, reminding the world yet again how hypocritical we are about fake phrases like “civil liberties,” and “freedom.”

We’re still hypocrites on all of that, don’t get me wrong, but surprise, this reality series featuring endless episodes of carnage and mass murder, about which America reacts like an 8 year old on a school playground just doesn’t drive Americans into the streets with pitchforks and torches to smite the wrong-doers. They certainly aren’t serious about the perverse gun religion and violence porn paraded daily on the news.

Incidentally, at my local grocery store Cleavage the cover of Cosmopolitan is covered by a plastic shield, while Guns and Ammo; no shield. The lesson is simple, America loves gun violence. its like someone gave us video game, and every American could own one even though each year the video game was guaranteed to explode in the faces of 33 of every 100 thousand people and would kill 11 of them. To be fair we aren’t the worst for gun violence. We are still beat handily by Swaziland, Guatemala and El Salvador. Still, not as safe as Bosnia and Ukraine, despite their ongoing civil war. No figures currently for North Korea, although they definitely lead us in Anti-Aircraft gun deaths, so that’s something.

Mass murder in American is entertainment. Its a game show. Who’s going to get shot tomorrow? Let’s spin the wheel of potential shooters. Muslim zealot of antiabortion white Christian? Anti-government nut or crazed kid off his meds? How about the crazy bat-sh@t “Its not Happy Holidays, its Merry Christmas,” mongrels? Will it be a church? A school? A mall? Will there be video? Hey mom and dad, look, that’s me leaving the scene with my hands in the air, I’m the 8th in line!

So, taking a page from George Carlin, in a great bit he did on terrorism years ago, let’s not be shy. Let’s really turn this into the proper industry it has become. I am proposing a Mass Murder rating system. The worst, you know, no one killed and no good video would get a Single Bullet rating, one and a half if the shooter goes down in a hail of bullets. Sand Hook Gets 4 1/2. San Bernadino, eh, 2 1/2. It just wasn’t that exciting. Not even the out of their minds Right wing media could muster any hysteria.

Honestly, the lack of real national hysteria over this latest massacre has me rethinking the whole brand. Paris would have gotten 5 bullets easily, except that it didn’t happen here. Sorry, Ricky Gervais’ The Office-the British version- didn’t qualify for an Emmy; wasn’t made here. Maybe time just to cancel the whole series. Doubt if America will do that any time soon.

Jeb Bush Slays Baby Hitler

Wait, if Jeb Bush killed baby Hitler, there wouldn’t have been World War 2. His dad wouldn’t have been shot down, helping to pave his way to politics, which would have kept his brother out of the Whitehouse, which means Al Gore would have been president, which means September 11th would never have happened because President Gore would have heeded the briefing titled “Bin Laden determined to strike within the…” (Wait), which means we would never have invaded Iraq and instead would have had a national initiative towards green energy and economic reforms, which means no collapse of 2008 (Wait), which means we would have been focused on the environment and learning, which, which means Texas textbooks wouldn’t have Cowboys riding dinosaurs, which means, OH MY GOD! I would be posting this from a vacation pod on the moon while getting the greatest tan in history! Which means “The Martian” with Matt Damon would be a reality show not a movie. Go, Jeb, go! Wait, unless, oh my god, Hitler wasn’t Hitler, but the little baby Schickelgruber, which means that Jeb killed the wrong baby, and World War 2 did happen and…Man, time travel is tricky

Milwaukee Sheriff calls #BlackLivesMatter Terrorists

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said on Twitter Tuesday that Before long, “Black Lies Matter will join forces with ISIS to b(r)ing down our legal constituted republic. You heard it first here.” It was an open comparison with a foreign terrorist group. Speaking this morning on a rightwing radio show in Chicago Clarke, now the darling o the rightwing media also linked ISIS with Iran, although the two are enemies. Iran currently is a was with ISIs.

He spoke on AM560 in Chicago, known for it attacks Clarke’s conspiracy paranoia would just be the confused ramblings of a fool if his NRA backed elected official did not have the power of life and death over people. This from Salon earlier this year:

“Of course, deflection is an effective tactic. A real organization doing a good deal of terrorizing is Clarke’s own Milwaukee police department, which according to Salon has been sued for dozens of illegal strip searches and has seen multiple officer-involved killings of unarmed black citizens during Clarke’s tenure, including Dontre Hamilton in 2014 and Derek Williams in 2011. What do black citizens of Milwaukee have to fear from terrorists overseas when the threat of death hangs over them from their own police everyday?”

Cark’s framing of #BLM as a terror organization, claiming also that ISIS is infiltrating SEIU and other labor organizations brings up disturbing questions about the safety and civil rights of civilians in Milwaukee County. Will or are his officers harassing or targeting anyone displaying #BlackLivesMatter signs? Even more, Clarke believes and said this morning that America can and should arrest its way out of the current social and economic turmoil plaguing the inner cities and poor.

Yet Clarke is silent on economic development, the banks and Wall Street in creating the foreclosure crisis which has crippled Black, minority and poor communities, and has called for open armed rebellion against any reasonable gun legislation. Most guns used in crimes in Milwaukee, like neighboring Chicago come from guns bought legally which are then given r sold to criminals; so-called straw purchases. Badger Guns in Milwaukee was found liable this month in a straw purchased linked to the shooting of two police officers. Ironically, Clarke’s own department could see a financial windfall from lawsuit against Badger and other gun outlets accused of straw purchases.

Meanwhile, the voters must realize that the true threat of terror faced n Milwaukee County comes from ulra-authoritarians, media hounds and protectors of the culture of greed, racism and corruption that have driven inner cities and the poor into corners of desperation in a society which then blames the symptoms but ignores the disease.

Denny Hastert Plea Deal will kill Black teens

An innocent man, Thomas Turner, sits in jail, going on 6 months now. I’ll tell you why in a bit…

The nation suffers from a deficit, but it is not the one you ever here about. Unlike the financial deficit, this deficit actually will kill America’s children, particularly the most vulnerable; inner city youth. The deficit I am referring to is one of moral and ethical leadership. Obama’s failure to prosecute anyone for the completely avoidable and absolutely manufactured financial collapse is one example. Denny Hastert’s plea deal, in which he cops to a throw away lesser charge but is allowed to skate on at least on case, and perhaps numerous cases of child molestation while a teacher at Yorkville high school.

A stretch? We maintain and tolerate a culture of corruption spun by the media, highly connected PR firms and government protectionism that conceals crimes with fraudulent corporate speak, dodges and mafia lawyer-like excuse. It all is paraded as free market capitalism or a means to an end. A mayor sells off public property as if the city was his personal fiefdom and explains it as necessary to bridge a budget gap, despite a secret fund of over a billion dollars that is parceled and passed away to wealthy friends and donors without oversight. A Black man with a gun is a criminal, while a white man with a gun is a patriot. An adult white-ish man shoots a black kid he was stalking at night and skates on a stand your ground statute, but a black woman who fires a gun in the air, in the same state to warn her historically abusive husband who later admitted he threatened to kill her and she goes to jail. A young Black woman going to a new job is tricked into a traffic stop, dragged from her car without charge and winds up dead in what the state dismisses as suicide. Wall street sold an fraudulent illusion in derivatives based on almost nothing many times the actual value of the entire global economy knowing it would collapse (timing it to collapse completely just as Barack Obama took office) and yet those very few who profited were never even talked sternly to. Denny Hastert raped boys, like that Sandusky character, but because one was an assistant coach and the other an influential Speaker of the House, guess who got away with child rape. They all have something in common.

There is no difference between the banker who concocts a scheme to foreclose on hundreds of thousands or millions of poor and working class homeowners by constructing a system of bad loans, red-lining supported by the money-corrupted courts and the kid who puts a bullet in another kid’s head over a West side drug deal. The kid who steals a phone is a playing the game exactly the way the banks did by being allowed to write a “new” law about foreclosures (Never mind ignoring all the consumer and banking laws already in place) in which they also wrote into the law that they were exempt from any penalty for violating the new law. Barack Obama, Bush and Clinton all illegally used the NSA, FBI and CIA to collect data and map relationships of American citizens and the whistle blower, Edward Snowden, becomes the criminal, while citizens recording police and public officials in wrongdoing are arrested, harassed and abused.

The kid with the gun, the gang selling drugs, the guy stealing a phone or copping a feel from the women on the el train, the lady going to a business meeting who blows a stop sign, cuts in line at the market, eats the grapes from the produce table without paying or all of it become commonplace in a society in which the powerful and wealthy are allowed privilege and excuse for their crimes. The rest of us are bludgeoned and bullied when we are simply enacting the same deficit of morality, courtesy, society and ethics people like Denny Hastert, or Jamie Dimon or Rahm Emmanuel take full advantage of.

Meanwhile, an innocent man, Thomas Turner sits in jail now going on 6 months. He was arrested on a gun charge despite his then girlfriend later admitting they were hers. They added to that a vandalism charge based solely on a surveillance video that supposedly shows him in the neighborhood, but which the D.A. has still not produced. There is no case. An independent inquiry all but proved that. But for the DA’s resume eventually Thomas will plead guilty just to get out of jail, do the time first and plead guilty without a trial. The DA will have a conviction/win and one day may stand before a room full of potential voters and point to his conviction record as the reason he’s the right man for the job. And the deficit grows faster, deeper and more catastrophic than any other deficit in America.

JFK should have been assassinated in Benghazi

It is difficult to believe anything that comes out of the mouth of Benghazi investigation chairman Trey Gowdy after co-conspirator Representative Kevin McCarthy’s comments to FOX News’ Sean Hannity that the purpose of the hearings was to disrupt Hillary Clinton’s campaign. His speech today as the hearings began had all the hallmarks of a hit man’s eulogy at a mafia funeral.

Interesting that tea Party obstructionist republicans, like Gowdy, would cut small grants to educational and cultural institutions because they assert the nation is bankrupt, but who have wasted more than $100 million on what rightly should have been paid for by political donors for commercials we can turn off or fast forward through, rather than tax payer dollars.

It should be noted that the investigation in the assassination of a sitting US president, with indications of potential foreign involvement, possible links to the defense department and the mafia, and lingering questions whether Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole assassin still persist. Indeed, the investigation into what the US government knew about the September 11 attacks in 2001 did not receive this much attention, again despite lingering questions.

There has never been any interest or actual investigation into the death of the American Ambassador to Pakistan Arnold Raphel and General Herbert M. Wassom, the head of the U.S. Military aid mission to Pakistan, both killed in a suspicious plane crash in Pakistan in 1988 during the Reagan Administration, and just months before the first George Bush took office. Ambassador Chris Stevens, it should be noted, who died in Benghazi, succumbed to smoke inhalation after becoming separated from other embassy staffers. His calls for additional funding and security was denied because of massive Republican cuts.

Maybe if the Twin Towers and the 3100 victims had been in Libya, or if President Kennedy had been gunned down in Benghazi by a Liberal 14 year old Muslim from Texas wearing a Planned Parenthood tee shirt and carrying a #Black Lives matter sign we might have gotten to the bottom of this, but only to find out it was still Hillary Clinton’s fault anyway, at least until the election is over.

Bill This

Louisiana republican, senator David Vitter this week introduced a bill that would cut funding for so-called sanctuary cities which do not actively or aggressively harass undocumented immigrants. Senator Harry Reid called it the Donald Trump bill, a reference to the incendiary and opportunistic rhetoric by presidential candidate and bombast, Donald Trump.

The bill calls for cities that do not “comply” with federal laws regarding arrests and deportations of immigrants to face sanctions and cuts to federal funding. Sanctuary cities simply have decided against using municipal funds or employees to enquire about an individual’s immigration status. It also relieves additional financial burdens on municipalities which find themselves cash strapped to greater and greater degrees. The term holds no legal status. begun in Los Angeles in the 1970s, the intent was to remove additional burdens to local police, and to prevent discrimination. Attempts to ban or sanction so called sanctuary cities is merely a political ploy and has no actual basis in law or practice.

The biggest idiocy is that these same republicans are the same retro-evolutionary amphibians cheering and flouting federal laws regarding a woman’s right to choose what happens to her own body, who insists about imposing creationism in public school curriculum, legislating at state levels end runs around anti-discrimination laws, imposing religious texts in courtrooms and celebrating lawless militias deploying to murder federal law enforcement officers in Nevada supporting a scofflaw rancher while now proclaiming “Blue Lives Matter.”

Of course, “Blue Lives Matter,” referring to police, is merely the right’s tongue in cheek end run around actually using the word “Nigger” to discredit the Black Lives Matter movement.

But consistency has never been a hallmark of the Right. What is far worse, however , are the people who fail to recognize glaring contradictions on the Right, which are the size of China’s Great Wall. And these people, like the media dulled Weebles that they’ve become walk right into that wall, turn around and slam into it again and again.
The Right constantly drumbeats about low information voters, referring to liberals and Progressives and anyone who sees through the hurricane of bullshit on the Right, as well as those not stupid enough to vote against their best interests. but when push comes to shove I’ll take the low information voters on the Left over the low IQ voters on the Right any old day!

Proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America: The Ninja Amendment

ninjacatva11

Be it soon resolved that We the People of these United States of America hereby propose that all schools in this great nation will henceforth be guarded by “good” Ninjas through a Constitutional convention of the States and ratified by the Congress. We further contend that this is as valid and an equally responsible response to initiatives to militarize schools with guns, forcibly arm teachers and increase the proliferation of guns by creating a virtual army to patrol the 130,000 schools in the nation. A single well-hidden Ninja would be far more effective and a greater deterrent than a dozen roaming part-time security guards.

Be it also noted by all parties that not a single crime or mass violence has ever been attributed to Ninjas, and that Ninjas are silent and stealthy and could dispatch a criminal with such lethal force as to provide minimal or no disruption to students, unlike a gun battle in a hallway. Further, it is laid down here that if it is proposed to force teachers to carry guns, that the wiser course, grasshopper, would be to train teachers in the moral, honorable and philosophical ways of the Ninja. Be it expressed in the strongest terms that the benefits to children schooled by Ninja teachers would reap untold positive benefits for America’s children. God himself forbidding a crisis, a school-full of children trained in the ways of the Ninja would become a formidable army in their own right.

We here affirm the noblest aspects of the Ninja. A Ninja never panics. a Ninja is kind and perpetually helps those in need. They are courageous, adaptable, versatile, patient, and persistent. Ninjas express loyalty to ones country, loyalty to ones parents, trust and brotherhood among friends. Ninjas believe that large egos are carried by small minds. Ninjas never cry.

Upon this date the draftees of this bill declare that this is the Ninja Amendment as proposed. We call upon the people of this nation to spread this proposal far and wide to all citizens, their elected representatives and the National Rifle Association for the sake and safety, the sanity and security of these United States.

Columbus, the genocidal murdering sailor? Happy Columbus Day everybody!

The one thing about history is that it must be view in context. There is a real danger in view history through contemporary perspectives, particularly for political or religious advantage. Both the Left and Right are guilty of that. Which is not to negate a critical accounting of history. It is important to learn lessons from history, but the true imperative of history is to learn all history, from as many perspectives on all sides. There is the age-old adage, history is written by the victors; a phrase which must rank among the most immoral and most regressive statements ever uttered. Such are the words of criminals and the ignorant. History must be the choral narrative of humanity, not an egotistical soap opera for the 1%, royalty and the powerful, or a scorecard in a dead-end tit-for-tat grudge match between religions. Fundamentally, it is the same reason that we judge the mistakes of children differently than those of adults.

Both the Left and Right will attempt to score points with truly meaningless hyperbole regarding Columbus and Columbus Day. As with most issues used as political and ideological footballs, the truth lies solidly in the middle. Real history becomes irrelevant here, because both sides have either abandoned it, do not know history, or are completely partisan in their positions that both truth and history or compromise are hardly a consideration.

So, was Christopher Columbus responsible for all that came after his arrival in the so-called “New” world? For one, it wasn’t new, as people had already been here for the better part of 25 thousand years. So, ole Chris didn’t discover anything, any more than I discovered the central Texas town of Saledo near where my parents live when I drove through it some years back. Following that logic I might have declared little Saledo, with its tourist shops and Inn where General George Custer stopped once, mine, or that I claimed it in the name of then Chicago Mayor Daley. So Columbus did not discover America, he stumbled upon a place someone already lived on and, if possession is 9/10 of the law, owned.

So what is Columbus guilty of? Personally, nothing. His largely innocent but failed efforts to uncover new supply routes to Asia did commence an occupation by Europeans over the coming centuries resulting over the course of 4 centuries somewhere between 33 million and 145 million indigenous deaths.

What is true is that that invasion and occupation, cloaked innocuously with terms like colonization led to an absolute destruction of the aboriginal peoples of the Americas. The assault and degradation and outright slaughter of those people was in fact a multi-generational genocide. In a proper perspective of history, and a proper accounting of the human soul, that must be accounted for and come to honestly, not racially as it has been done as a means of obscuring European crimes and ignorance.

That is hardly to accuse or impugn all Europeans, or all Americans today, or in the past. We are at the culmination of a history in which there are indeed a grand majority of innocent European and Western colonists. While the momentum of that colonization ground aboriginals under hoof and boot, the history cannot not be undone without doing greater harm. So where does that leave us?

History instead becomes a tool to establish standards for human rights and human dignity. The imperative is to progress from the past, and past ignorance, and not to continuously recreate crimes from that past, nor to continually reopen or re-enflame the scars and pain evoked from those crimes. And certainly now to create a revolving scheme of oppressors who exact revenge as they come to power. That is the risk of exalting the victim too much, ignoring their inherent humanness as well.

And then is where the consideration for not celebrating a fake holiday like Columbus day. At the very least we are celebrating a myth and a cartoonish and bigoted view of history, which we all should have learned from. We wouldn’t celebrate Robert E. Lee’s birthday nationally. Even though he didn’t start the KKK, and disavowed the Confederate flag under which he fought, he did nurture men like Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forest, the first Grand Wizard of the Klan. We wouldn’t celebrate that day out of respect for the pain and insult it would cause Blacks in this country.

The point here is that history is a process, forged as much by blunders and success as a continual ascension from the ignorance we harbored the moment before. The choices and steps we make now will resonate. In truth, future history is yet to be written. We are all the authors of that history, and so inherent is a guarantee of chaos and calamity. It is the weight of those who side with human dignity and human rights through the greatest driver of human history-mutual respect and understanding.

So, if you’re passionate about Columbus, take the wife out to dinner, have a couple of Morettis, but realize that others, many with generational lines in this country extending many thousands of years before Columbus was born are sensitive about it. Realize that only a hand full of generations ago happened the Trail of Tears, Wounded Knee, and that throughout most of the 20th Century open racism against Native Americans was rampant and overt. Realize that those same struggles continue now as the sovereignty of indigenous peoples re routinely violated, and that promises and treaties are likewise violated with impunity. Columbus wasn’t an evil person, nor was he a hero. He is a myth, but history has inflated his legacy far beyond the person, and that is what needs to be remembered.

Punking the Commie Pope

Being a liberal means never having to apologize to the pope. Recall during the election in 2004 and 2008, we were told by the Right that if we didn’t listen to the Pope, the last one who grew up as a Nazi Youth-no se3riously-about abortion and contraception then we weren’t true Catholics. A few even went so far as to label pro-choice Catholics as heretics. Right out of the inquisition. What was that high horse position regarding the violent and deranged Muslims needing a reformation. During Christianity’s so-called Reformation the inquisition was still torturing and imprisoning tens of thousands of innocents, and the Pope in Rome was still presiding over the annual carnival with wonderful events such as the running of the cripples and Jews at the end of sharp pikes. Ah, but who doesn’t love a carnival.

As another aside, by the way, Christianity didn’t reform, even with humanism. Christianity was reassigned to a social position rather than a political and ruling position. Only then were there public and serious thoughts about universal human rights, efforts to end slavery, the vote, secular constitutions and the opportunity for ever dumb ass hick to get on talk radio and regale us with their Duck Dynasty wisdom. For all the Wikipedia historians out there, that wasn’t Humanism. Humanism was still a servent of Christian doctrine.

But what really gets me is the willingness, with all their piety and catholic and Christian flag waving, like Kim Davis, or political self-promoter Mike Huckabee or a caller and thousands of listeners to the Michael Savage show to throw this new Pope under the bus. These holier than thou, every baby’s breath is perfume gold Catholics are so gay married to their own personal hate, bigotry and religious team sports that they’ll happily side with a nationalist Jew like Savage mercilessly attacking the Pope. They are so lost to hate and idiocy that the same pundits, such as Savage, telling Catholics they were going against their religion for not following in lock step with the pope over abortion endure and indeed join in calling the pope a socialist or worse when he dares speak of mercy for Syrian and Libyan refugees or about climate change.

As an atheist, and recovering Catholic, nothing the pope says means any more to me than anyone else.I am just amazed at the hypocrisy. Certainly the pious Catholics only believe that God speaks through the Pope as long as he espouses what they already believe. So, why complicate things? Why not just cut out the middle man and keep your Sundays free for the important things in life, swimming down at the quarry, landscaping around the trailer, betting with the neighbors on which tooth will come out the next time you are fine dining on generic pop tarts, walking the three-legged dog you accidently shot one day while cleaning the shotgun, house painting over the rust on the pickup, watching the kids run naked through a sprinkler while wistfully retorting, “they grow up so fat, I can’t believe they’re 30 already!”
. Your real religion is Nascar and chicken wings. You are wasting energy and allowing someone else to take the credit each time you hide behind religion. Shout it out loud, and shout it proudly…”I AM A DICK!” Then on Monday, you can go back to your job as a county clerk, Kim Davis.
